Ok, so we’ve all been there. Someone LOVES the sound of our Business, and then they “Google it!” Now, doing research on a company is quite prudent. However, you have to know what is good information, and what is not. In the video below, you’ll see in greater detail what I mean. But let’s face it, most of the people that write negativity on the internet about MLM and Network Marketing Companies, are simply reps that signed up, did nothing or very little, found that they weren’t making $5 BILLION dollars a day, and quit.

There isn’t a Business Model out there, that rewards or promotes laziness. Simply, to make money in ANY pursuit, you HAVE to put in time and effort. It’s ashame that we live in a “blame” culture.

You see, in Business, you have to learn how to make GOOD decisions. Taking the advice from someone that’s quit/failed, is probably not the best way to get things done. Rather take advice from people who are and have been successful. This is a rather controversial topic, as you’ll find a variety of things online about various companies and the Network Marketing Industry as a whole. The reason that you don’t find too much positive information, is that the people who are excelling in their businesses, are too busy being productive. This video just goes to show, that the profile of Network Marketing is VERY much on the rise. ACN is a 17 year old company, that turned over $500,000,000 in 2009. They’re the 21st Largest Network Marketing Company, by way of turnover, according to the Direct Selling News Top 100 List published in 2010. The Company has an inventive Videophone technology which allows you to see one another whilst being on the phone. But this is not all they do. They provide a Compendium of different household utility services at cut prices. They’ve certainly stood the test of time when it comes to Network Marketing Companies. Most companies fail in their early stages, but ACN has gone WAY past that stage.

Network Marketing is a MULTI BILLION DOLLAR Industry around the world. People like Warren Buffet, Robert Kiyosaki, and even Donald Trump are endorsing it. Infact, Warren Buffet purchased a company called Pampered Chef in 2003. He was quoted as saying, it was the best investment he’d ever made. We’ve all heard sales pitches from various Network Marketing and MLM Opportunities, but a MAJOR thing that seems to missed out, is the Tax Breaks available to the Network Marketer.

You see, the tax laws were written to favour the Business Owner.  Business Owners have far more tax breaks than employees.  Infact, Employees have the LEAST tax breaks, and consequently, pay more tax.  You see, being a Business Owner, you pay out ALL of your expenses FIRST, and then you pay your taxes.  As an Employee, your boss pays your tax first, and then you’re given what’s left, to live on.

If you’re reading this, and you ONLY have a wage income coming in, then I’m afraid to say, you’re probably paying far too much tax.

You see, when I say the Tax Laws are written to favour the Business Owner, you probably think, Conventional Business.  Staff, Rent, Rates, Stock etc.  But no, many Businesses now are run from home, and some don’t even have employees.  If you think about IT Contractors for example, they themselves, are a “Business!”  They don’t receive a salary.  They get paid, and then are responsible for their own taxes.

Similar to them, Network Marketing and MLM Opportunities are officially acceptable forms of having a business.  The GREAT thing is that you can continue to work your job, and run your Network Marketing Business alongside your job.  Doing this, you can immediately start to pay less tax by running your MLM Business as a proper Business, keeping good records etc.  Do see an accountant about this, but you’ll find, that you’ll actually be BETTER off paying the monthly fees that your MLM Company charges, and having your own business, than you’d be just as an employee.  You see, if you don’t have a business, you’ve already been paying WAY more tax than you need.

Here are a few examples, of what you could write off against your Tax Bill.

- Mobile/Cell Phone Bill.

- Mortgage Interest (Percentage of, not all of it).

- Percentage of Rent if you’re renting.

- Gas/Petrol used on “Business” Journeys.

- Certain Food/Drink Bills.

- Percentage of Car Payment.

The list is actually endless, and even things such as Vacations IF you’re in the Travel Business and conducting Business there.  Remember, these laws are not to be abused, they’re there to be used for legitimate purposes, but SO much of what we do day to day, can be also used in MLM, so it’s GREAT for Network Marketers.

The best part of all this, is that it’s a LEGAL way to pay less tax.  Tax “AVOIDANCE” as opposed to tax “EVASION’ is LEGAL!  Remember, the LAW states that as a Business Owner, you have MORE Tax Breaks.  This is certainly the case in places like the USA, Canada, U.K, Australia and so on.  You’ll find that this is the case in most of the world.

So if you’re in Network Marketing already, promote this benefit more.  Quite often, the savings that people would make on their taxes are MORE than what it costs to join the company in the first place.

If you’re looking at joining a Network Marketing Company, do it ASAP!  Find a company and team that you can get excited about, and start taking advantage of the Tax Breaks that are available to you today.

We’ve all heard of David Beckham, and of course his current team, L.A. Galaxy. I’d also assume that you’ve heard of ILLEGAL Pyramid Schemes. You’re probably wondering what is the connection? Well there are some people that actually mistake Network Marketing and MLM for illegal Pyramid Schemes. I just wanted to write this post to add credibility to the industry of Network Marketing.

Network Marketing is taking on a completely different face, and this alliance between Herbalife and L.A. Galaxy is proof of that.  For those of you that have looked at Network Marketing before, or even been involved, but never really took it seriously, I think it’s time to take a more serious look at it again.

For all those people that say, “Those things don’t work!” Well I respectfully disagree. When it’s YOUR Company’s name on the side of a MAJOR Stadium like this, then I’ll start listening to you.  I’ve never actually been in Amway myself, but it was the first that I heard about Network Marketing.  I was out in the streets playing my bike with a buddy of mine, when a neighbour that we knew was talking about careers etc.  I was 16 years old, and was kinda lovin’ this story that he was talking about.  We then went into his house, and you guessed it, he commenced to drawing circles.  This was my FIRST exposure to MLM.  I went home and told my dad about this GREAT idea, and he said, stick to your studies, and go find a job.  Not having the money at the time, I didn’t pursue it any further.  I waited till I was 21 before I would enter the Network Marketing Industry.

Amway is the company that paved the way for the rest of the MLM Companies out there.  They fought legal battle after legal battle, and WON…!  So if you’re in Network Marketing today, then you should pay homage to the Old Timer Companies.  The bottom line is this, Amway, like MANY other Network Marketing Companies, WORKS!!!  Most people just quit too early.  Think about it logically!  Those people that you see on stage earning the INSANE cheques (checks for my US friends), they once had ZERO Network Marketing Experience.  They were in the SAME Company, used the SAME Comp Plan, lived in the SAME Country.  So the ONLY reason you’d “FAIL” is YOU!  Not even fail, people just quit prematurely.

I met a guy a few years back that started Amway in 1982, when I was only 5 years old.  I met this guy in 2008 in South Carolina, and he hadn’t actively worked his business since 1996, and was STILL receiving a Substantial Income from it.  I looked in awe as he drove off in his BMW M5

Pictured below is the Amway Center in Florida.  Home of the Orlando Magics.  When you have Network Marketing Companies sponsoring MAJOR Sports Teams, that is a sign that times are changing.  So the next time some smart ass asks, “So how’s that Amway thing going?”  You can tell them that they are doing over $7bn a YEAR!  So it’s not doing too well!  HAHA!

Think you can’t earn BIG Money in Home Based Business? Think AGAIN! Network Marketing isn’t just changing, it HAS changed. Debbie changed her life, from an out of work factory worker, to the TOP Avon Rep in the UK. £250,000 a Year. That was back in 2008. Heaven knows what she’s earning now. Network Marketing has been on the rise since 2008, especially in this recession.

You see, some of the common misconceptions surrounding Network Marketing and MLM, are that it’s EASY. It’s not EASY, it’s SIMPLE. There is a HUGE difference between the two. Network Marketing takes hard work and commitment. Just like ANY other Business Venture. Think about it, if it was EASY, everyone rep in the world would be a multi-millionaire.

Avon turns over $12,000,000,000 per annum. Now forgive me for saying so, but all of you that think that Network Marketing is a Scam, turning over that kind of money, and hiding it, well I don’t know about you, but I’d find it IMPOSSIBLE!

There are THOUSANDS of Network Marketing Companies out there, the reason I focused on Avon in this post is due to the content of the video. People are CHANGING their lives through MLM. You could watch it, and make excuses, but with someone like Debbie totally making it happen, what excuse could you really make? No offense to Debbie, but you can’t say, oh she’s too smart, she has business experience, etc etc. The only excuse you could make is that you’re too lazy to do anything about your life.

Well this might get a little controversial for those of you that are uber sensitive, but do remember, this only an opinion, and doesn’t necessarily represent a FACT.

So what am I talking about? Network Marketing and Internet Marketing. Two POWERFUL Industries in their own right. They have a common thread, which is Marketing, but of late, people are getting things confused. You see, Network Marketing has been around for about 50-60 years as we know it. It’s always been built through meeting people, events, home presentations and so on. The common factor here being PEOPLE. It is a PEOPLE Business. We know that people like people, and they do business with people they LIKE and TRUST! So what’s my point?

With the advent of the internet, both GOOD and BAD things have happened in the Industry of Network Marketing. One of the good things, is that it enables us to communicate and reach out to people much much further afield than in ourselves. Hence increasing the possible size of our target market and essentially our business. It enables us to make NEW friends and contacts that we’d never have done before.

But you see, the problem lies herein. When people think that you don’t have to pick up the phone to build an MLM Business. Internet Marketing and Network Marketing are TWO different things. In my opinion, Internet Marketing is not something that’s easily duplicatable for starters, so less than 20% of your time should be spent doing this. I myself market various sites/products online, including the site you’re reading this on. But believe you me, most people wouldn’t have a clue how to do that. Now yes, you can combine the two to an extent. But again, in my opinion, and it’s my opinion only, I don’t believe that you’ll build a FULLY automated DUPLICATABLE Network Marketing Business JUST through Internet Marketing. Think about it, if a company had that system and technology, WHY would it ever need reps? Why would they have reps, when they’re “AUTOMATED” System could build a business without human interaction.

Now, I could be wrong, and I frequently am. But I’ve yet to meet a TOP Income Earner of ANY company, and I mean TOP 20 Earner, that has built their business through an “AUTOMATED” System. They did it through the old fashioned way of getting on the phones and speaking to people. YES, they may have used email technology and webinars and so on and so forth to get information out, but the FUEL in the FIRE was PHONECALLS…!

Now it might sound like I’m bashing Internet Marketing. Not at all, infact I LOVE it. I LOVE it for selling products etc, but to build an MLM Business, you need to do MORE than sell products. You need to BUILD people. And without having that human interaction, you can’t build a STRONG MLM Business. I have not met an MLM Leader that doesn’t have strong people skills. Now some people are put off by this, and rather than build those skills, they try and find a short cut and get sold on those “Get Rich Quick Internet Schemes!” That attitude is just the attitude that needs to SHIFT!

So if someone says to you, sign up to this automated MLM Program, take it with a pinch of salt. I see some of the Internet Marketing Material playing on the weaknesses of people, saying things like “Sick of talking to your friends and family?” “Tired of attending Hotel Meetings?” Let me show you how you can make 50 GAZILLION Dollars with your own online Website. Forgive me for saying so, but “BULLSHIT!” Think about it from this perspective, IF you really knew and believed that your business is going to make you money, WHY would you not tell your friends and family first? Give me ONE good reason. Whether they join or not is different, ALL you have to do is TELL them. Your friends and family are just people like ANYONE else. You might think they’re special, but they’re not. Remember, to other people OUTSIDE, they’re NOT friends and family.

There is NO shortcut to Network Marketing. People are being sold on claims that there is an EASY way to build. It’s SIMPLE, not EASY! Those VERY people that claim it’s easy, ask to see their cheques (checks for my US friends) ANYONE that makes income claims, should not be afraid to verify them. If you can’t verify it, DON’T BRAG ABOUT IT…!

So in conclusion, FOLLOW carefully and diligently what the TOP Earners in YOUR Company are doing! Don’t join any of these feeder programs to build your business. The BIGGEST Downlines in Network Marketing have been built the Old Fashioned Way. There will never come a time where we as humans won’t need that PERSONAL Interaction.

And for those of you who aren’t good at these social skills, LEARN them….You’ll need them! And the BEST place to learn them, is by interacting with your upline and the PRODUCERS in your company. Now go get ‘em…!

Yes, you read correct.  Network Marketing and the Movie Industry.  I was having an interesting discussion with someone the other day about what Network Marketing is and isn’t.  They said that MLM is something dishonest, and should be banished etc.  These conversations are always very interesting nowadays.  I’m a lot more forgiving now than I used to be.  But I used an example in explaining this to the said person, that is the simplest way that I could think of.

We’ve all heard it all before, people using the word referring, and recommending etc.  But let’s talk about it in a little more detail.  The rest of this post is illustrative, and the numbers involved are purely hypothetical.  It’s the principal that I would like for you to take away from it.

Network Marketing, like it or not, exists EVERYWHERE.  I use the movie industry as an example as I’m SUPER PASSIONATE about it.  When you really understand how the movie industry, and MOST other Industries Operate, you’ll understand the parallels with MLM.

So just like Network Marketing, they have a product.  Their products are movies.  Whereas Network Marketing companies have all sorts of products, from services to household products and so on.  It’s when it gets to the Marketing and Advertising, that things start to become VERY similar.  So using the example from above, “Quantum Of Solace” I shall illustrate what I mean.  You can replace the movie with ANY other movie that you’d like.

So how the movie industry promotes movies is through showing movie trailers, putting up billboards, magazine advertising, newspaper advertising, and so on.  They literally spend MILLIONS on this.  We’re talking SERIOUS BIG MONEY just to get the word out.  But think about this.  When Quantum Of Solace came out, me being a big Bond Fan, would have gone to see it whether I saw a Trailer or not.  I would have gone to see it whether it was advertised or not.  This particular movie was special as I was able to visit the set because of my brother’s light sculptures being used in the movie.  (Pictured Below – On left hand side)

So when I saw the movie, the FIRST thing I did was update my Facebook status.  Then the next day, I started telling EVERYONE I knew to watch that movie.  With genuine excitement.  The mere mention of someone going to the movies, would have me do a 1 minute spiel on why they should watch Bond.  Does any of this sound at all familiar?  If you like me, do this when you see a good movie, then I’m afraid to say, you’re in Network Marketing.  Network Marketing is just that.  ”Marketing” through your network.  You see, I’ve used an example of a movie.  But this could be a restaurant, it could be a shop or a particular product.

Think about what has you go watch a movie.  Don’t we listen to the people around us?  Don’t people recommend movies ALL the time?  Don’t we talk about them to other people?  When we’re doing this, we’re SELLING!  Yes, we’re ALL sales people for the things that we like.  We can sell ANYTHING that we love or like.  So when someone says they’re not a sales person, that’s strictly not true.  Because those SAME people will be convincing someone on why they should go watch the latest instalment of the Harry Potter saga.  And they’ll do a GREAT job of it too.

So what does all this mean I hear you ask.  What does this have to do with MLM?  It’s not that it has anything to do with MLM, it IS mlm.  You see, when I recommended Quantum to my friends and family, and anyone that uttered a word to me, I was marketing the movie.  Then what do you think those people did?  You guessed it.  They did the same, and before you know it, I would have started influencing hundreds if not thousands of people both directly and indirectly.  So now you have hundreds or thousands of Bond promoters.  How much do United Artists pay these promoters?  How much do Odeon, Cineworld, Warner Bros etc pay these promoters?  The answer is ZERO.  For some of us, we’ll go and watch the movie again with other friends.  But we don’t even get a FREE ticket.  The reason for this, is that their advertising budget doesn’t take into account for revenue sharing.

You see, in Network Marketing, the business model actually is designed to do just that.  To reward the people that do the recommendations.  That’s the ONLY difference.  Those companies don’t spend huge amounts of money on advertising.  Instead, they pay a fixed amount WHEN someone buys the product.  Which is also much more efficient.

Now are there people that promote their network marketing business incorrectly or unethically?  Of course there are.  But that could be said of anything.  That’s a bit like saying, “Because Barclays Bank has an employee that committed fraud, I’m never going to open a bank account ever again.  I’ll keep my money under the mattress!”  That would be absurd right?  In the same way, Network Marketing as an Industry is AMAZING, and has been PROVEN to work.  So don’t make your decision based on what other people may or may not do.  Rather make your decision based on facts.

Infact, if you think about it, how many more companies are there now, that PAY you for “referring” customers.  Banks are doing, Satellite TV Companies, Insurance Companies, they’re ALL at it.  You see, because the cost of acquiring THAT customer is LOW.  They pay the £25 referral bonus or whatever it is.  Whereas when they spend money on advertising, the cost PER customer acquisition is HIGHER.

So folks, there you have it.  We are ALL in Network Marketing, whether we like it or not.  The only difference, is that some people choose to get paid for it.

I assume we’ve heard this term before.  But it never hurts to remind ourselves.  Be a Fisherman, not a Hunter they say.  What do animals do when they have a gun pointing at them?  Do they run toward the gun shouting, “SHOOT ME, SHOOT ME!?”  No, of course not, they RUN, and I mean they RUN like CRAZY!!!  Fly if it’s a bird, but you get the point.  Think of your mouth as a gun, and the people you speak to as animals.  When you open your mouth and start firing off rounds like crazy, your people will run like crazy!

Let’s take a look at what the Fisherman does.  They get out on a boat, keep their mouth shut, and let their tools (Fishing Rod, tackle etc) do the work.  And what happens here, is that the fish come toward them of their own accord.  You see, using the tools to build your mlm business, and not CHASING your prospects down, will build your mlm business in a much stronger and efficient way.  Remember, getting people into your business is a process, you should be patient.  More often than not, people need to be communicated with a number of times, and see the business in a few different ways.  Sometimes, people do join right away, however, the norm is having shown someone a few times.  Step by Step.

Network Marketing has SO many parallels to life, it’s GREAT. Once you master Network Marketing, the things you’ll be able to do out there in the Marketplace will astound you. You see, what Network Marketing will equip you with, is the skill of how to deal with people. Network Marketing is more than just a way to make money part time. It’s the GREATEST Training School on the planet.

So when you’re out there, take it easy, use your tools, and ATTRACT people, rather then REPEL them.  Be a Fisher, not a Hunter.
